New: IT Audit
Today we’re excited to release a great new addition to our on-demand IT Asset Management service: you can now track your inventory and audit changes to your assets. Using the new Inventory Audit feature you can now view a complete audit log of changes to computers on your network, view changes over a period of time or by the type of change, and easily generate IT audit & hardware inventory reports that would help you meet regulatory and audit requirements as well as troubleshoot support requests. The audit events we record include:
- New computers (or Virtual Machines) on the network
- Software install/removal/upgrades
- Patch install/removal (including service packs and drivers)
- Network configuration changes (IP, adapters, Mac address)
- Hardware configuration changes (disks, video cards, memory, board and bios)
- User logins
Here is a quick look on how it works:

To use the Inventory Audit simply click on the Inventory module and than select Audit. You can view your complete audit log or filter records by selecting a specific computer, action (add, change or remove) or the type (software, network, disks, etc). Like all the other views in SAManage, you can easily extract your audit records to a CSV or PDF and use it outside of the service.
We made it easy to view audit records for a specific computer by adding a new audit tab to the computer details screen:
Simplified IT Audit on-demand
This feature is part of our core promise to introduce on-demand tools and provide the easiest way to manage your IT assets. Auditing an IT inventory can become quite a challenge when dealing with large numbers of assets and can become a labor intensive process as data needs to be pulled from many different data sources and reconciled to meet regulatory and audit requirements or to troubleshoot a support request or an issue with an asset.
We are really excited about this new feature and hope it would help you easily audit your IT environment and manage your IT asset. Visit the product tour to learn how to easily audit changes to your assets and network.
