Appalachian State University
"It's amazing to think that I can be a part of bringing the Appalachian State experience to another student. My time in the mountains at ASU drove me to think in a greater way and excel in area that maybe I hadn't thought of before my time there. Working for a company as innovative as Samanage, it's no wonder they thought to bring such an amazing opportunity to the community!"
- Danielle Livy, Senior Director, Marketing
Who is Samanage offering these scholarships to?
Headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, Samanage has come to love the local community we built out business within and its well-respected universities. Our proximity to this massive amount of youthful, highly educated talent has provided us with unprecedented access to a steady stream of smart, tech-savvy, and driven young men and women who can help propel our business. As a local technology company that is shaping the future of our community it is important to use to help our local schools support growth in innovative disciplines.
Why is Samanage focused on Computer Science majors?
As many of our team members know, it can be a scary moment getting the keys to a large scale mainframe system and being told, "It's all your responsibility now. Don't break anything." However, what this does to a young mind is it shapes it to show that experiences like this determine how you will handle enormous responsibilties that arise, and how you as an individual can align your own actions to a greater purpose. These pivotal moments become a huge foundation for early-stage technology innovators.
How does the Samanage Success Scholarship Program work?
We have partnered with various technological insituations in North Carolina to initially bring one Samanage Success Scholarship to each school for $2,500 (per student, per year) to a North Carolina resident, attending an eligible school, and majoring in Computer Science or an Information Technology (IT) concentration. A scholarship committee has been set up at each school to identify the recipient of the Samanage Success Scholarship. Dates and deadines for each school may vary, but in general, the schools meet with potential recipients in January/February, and in May/June a recipient is announced for the upcoming school year starting in August. Scholarship eligibility will be determined by each individual school.
