Guide to the Service Portal
We’re getting to the fun part! The Service Catalog is going to be your go-to location when you need help with something. Your Service Catalog will provide you with a collection of approved services that your organization can provide for you. Whether you are looking for your new hire form or a place to request a new laptop, this should be your starting place. Please make this menu your first choice when looking for help or requesting a service from your organization.
Next, we will take a look at how to request an approved Service Catalog item through the Service Portal. Here we go!
Requesting a Service Catalog Item
To request an approved service from your Service Catalog you will first need to select an item from the Service Catalog list. The services are divided into categories to help you navigate your search. If you would like to see more items in a category, please click the light blue box below each category to view all items.
Once you have found the service you are looking for, go ahead and click to request. Clicking a Service Catalog item will bring you to the Service Request screen where you will see additional information which may include a title, description, cost and expected delivery time for this service.
You will also be asked to fill out varying information pertaining to this approved service. So go ahead and fill out the information needed from you to complete this request. Any information that is mandatory will be marked with an asterisk (*). If your organization provides you with the option to do so, you will also see a link to attach files to your service request. If you would like attach any external files to this request please select “Attach Files” at the bottom left hand corner of this menu.
Once you have completed filling out the information needed and selecting your options, you can hit “Request Item”. You will notice that you are navigated to the My Requests menu where you can see your new request and any updates associated with it.
