Production Company Effectively Manages Diverse and Vast Hardware Inventory
Todd Street Productions is a 360 marketing and communications company that helps corporate clients in their live and digital communication initiatives. Todd Street’s services include producing live event production, managing corporate communications, and all digital initiatives that companies undertake.
With in-house video, digital and graphic studios to support their creative services, the company needed more than just spreadsheets to manage their assets.
"We can easily identify computer hardware stats without needing to physically go to every machine and check.- Brian Farrelly, IT Support Specialist
Brian Farrelly, Todd Street Productions’ IT Support Specialist, needed a way to create and maintain a shareable database of the company’s full inventory of desktops and laptops at the office. He also needed a way to keep track of computers, HD’s, iPads, etc. that the company was loaning out to its customers and using on-sight in meetings.
Farrelly looked at a number of SaaS solutions and knew Samanage had the functionality and fit the budget constraints of Todd Street Productions. But, what was essential to Farrelly was the incredible ease of use of Samanage’s online features and its seamless integration with Zendesk.
“Samanage was smooth to implement, as the agent was easy to install on both Macs and PC’s,” said Farrelly. “In just one week, we were up and running with a full and detailed inventory of every desktop and laptop’s serial number and an inventory of all software and other assets.”
Now Farrelly can easily identify computer hardware stats (ram, processor speed, hard drive size) without needing to physically go to every machine and check. This is especially beneficial for helping users remotely, or assessing their problem without even turning on their specific machine. He has already seen a 30% decrease in time spent managing hardware.
“Samanage has the exact right mix of functionality and price for our needs,” said Farrelly.
