Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Tracks IT Assets and Gains Control of IT Costs
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) leads economic development efforts for the state, nurturing business growth and job creation by advancing Wisconsin’s business climate.

Because WEDC strives to provide a positive business climate with world-class support services for businesses, they needed to have an IT ecosystem that’s powerful and reliable, with the ability to track IT assets throughout their lifecycles and stay on top of costs. With a strong IT asset management program, WEDC could continue to provide necessary economic development tools for businesses already in Wisconsin and those looking to relocate there.
The WEDC did not have an IT asset management or service management program prior to Samanage, and tracked assets using Excel worksheets. IT asset management data had to be entered manually, a process that was prone to errors. The WEDC needed a better way to keep their IT asset costs under control.
The WEDC chose Samanage for several reasons:
WEDC integrated Samanage with existing tool sets and quickly has visibility into all of their assets and data on lifecycle, contracts, approval, licensing, and compliance. Samanage met WEDC’s technical and reporting needs, as well as being user-friendly. Finally, the Samanage cost structure was just right for a small-to-medium-sized organization.
“Samanage has allowed us to concentrate time and resources on delivering services and bringing businesses into the state without having to spend excessively for a great IT solution,” said Gregory Beach, Director of Information Technology.
