Is Work Email Disrupting the Personal Lives of U.S. Employees?
For many American workers, the emails never end. There’s internal work communication, customer/external messages, event notifications, marketing emails, and more.
Is this the most efficient way to work? How does this impact the personal lives of American employees? Samanage surveyed 1,500 working U.S adults and discovered the not only are employees losing sleep over emails, but dinner disruptions are growing, with 23 percent of respondents saying they check email “very often” during dinner. Among the other results:
- 20% of respondents receive more than 100 emails per day
- 24.4% check emails in the middle of the night
- 55% prefer text communication over email
- 47.5% use advanced email settings to control, automate, or organize their email
